Max's Values
Max Myers believes Pennsylvania’s best years are yet ahead, where solutions to the challenges of the commonwealth are collectively addressed. The answers to our social and cultural challenges are too big for any one person. Together, in community and in relationship, they are not. Max sees a Pennsylvania where all of our streets are safe. Max sees a Pennsylvania where boarded up factories once again have workers streaming in and goods streaming out. Max sees a Pennsylvania that leads the world in the innovation of new products. Max wants to make Pennsylvania a better place to live for generations to come and is looking for people who want to go there with him.
* Listed below are some of the visions and values that Max holds. Additional values and greater details will be added as the election season nears. Max would love to hear from you, so please feel free to use the form below to let him know what you think about the issues!
MANUFACTURING
Max believes it is possible to return manufacturing to Pennsylvania—bringing jobs back home from foreign nations. He will work with labor, business, banking, and the community to make this a reality. Providing employment for our citizens is central to a better Commonwealth.
URBAN DEVELOPMENT
Max believes it is possible to see our urban neighborhoods safe and productive. He will work with community leaders to walk through the steps necessary to bring restoration to challenged regions.
ENERGY
Max believes that it is possible for Pennsylvania to lead the nation in development of clean energy. He will champion and facilitate the research and development of alternative energy on our University campuses and in the private sector.
ARTS
Max believes that it is possible to advance the appreciation for the arts, even in economically challenging times. As a lover of the theater, music and art, he will strive to facilitate a platform for our artistic resources throughout the Commonwealth. A healthy culture takes time to celebrate the arts and its contribution to the human spirit.
EQUAL RIGHTS
Max believes that it is possible to restore William Penn’s vision, that all Pennsylvanians would treat each other with honor and respect. He will confront the cultural, ethnic, religious, gender, and sexual orientation issues that harm and divide us.
EDUCATION
Max believes that it is possible to greatly increase our High School retention rate, and provide a world-class education for our students. He does not believe this will need to happen on the backs of our taxpayers, but by the involvement of educators, parents and community leaders.
ENVIRONMENT
Max believes it is possible to advance manufacturing and the extraction of our natural resources without causing undo harm to the environment. Where it is not possible, all efforts should be halted until resolutions can be found.
SENIORS
Senior adults comprise one of the most powerful people groups in PA, yet they are too often disregarded and disrespected. Younger, and less experienced, generations are handicapped without the wisdom and life experience Seniors represent. I will advocate for the rights of our seniors to ensure they receive the care that they need. But I also commit to empowering them to become involved in the building of our future. It has been and will continue to be exponentially more difficult without their reason and experience.
