Max Myers believes Pennsylvania’s best years are yet ahead, where solutions to the challenges of the commonwealth are collectively addressed. The answers to our social and cultural challenges are too big for any one person. Together, in community and in relationship, they are not. Max sees a Pennsylvania where all of our streets are safe. Max sees a Pennsylvania where boarded up factories once again have workers streaming in and goods streaming out. Max sees a Pennsylvania that leads the world in the innovation of new products. Max wants to make Pennsylvania a better place to live for generations to come and is looking for people who want to go there with him.
THE FOUR PRIMARY PRIORITIES OF THE MYERS PLATFORM:
It is possible and necessary to move our rural and urban citizens out of poverty.
Our present approach to providing assistance to those in poverty, though well intentioned, more typically results in maintaining their place in that socio-economic environment. Since there is no governmental policy or plan to move our fellow Pennsylvanians out of poverty, we must conclude that we are advancing a plan to keep them there. This challenge is both cultural and complex, but Max is convinced that it can be resolved. In fact, if we really care about one another, it must be resolved. Along with the obvious social benefits, resolving poverty will add thousands of taxpayers to the workforce and greatly reduce our tax burden.
It is possible and necessary that we create a business and manufacturing environment that will employ our fellow Pennsylvanians. Those who dream of starting their own business need the opportunity to have their dream mentored and resourced. Businesses that want to grow must be partnered with investors who will take a personal interest in the success of that business. Manufacturing that works in tandem with labor unions must provide meaningful, stable and profitable employment throughout the commonwealth. “Made in Pennsylvania” will be placed on our products with pride.
It is possible and necessary to provide for our commonwealth a new type of leadership that will help bring resolution to the issues that continue to cause a variety of hardships. Max is convinced that every resource needed to bring transformation to Pennsylvania lies within the collective citizens of our Commonwealth. His is a leadership that accesses, empowers and supports its people to open doors previously thought impossible to unlock. In order to see Pennsylvania become the “example to the nations” that William Penn had a vision for, Max Myers will govern, not by focusing on law-creating legislation, but by empowering people of Pennsylvania. See PENNSYLVANIA PEOPLES’ COMMISSION for further details.
It is necessary that we provide a world-class public school education for all of our children. In our present political environment, the only real public discussion and debate concerning our public schools is about funding and budgets. The funding of our schools is important, but we are losing sight of a larger responsibility; giving ALL of our children an excellent education. Policy makers and players in this arena have become accustomed to focusing on what can’t be done to improve our schools. For the future of Pennsylvania, we must bring down the walls that are hindering us and address the issues giving us such poor educational results.
Additional Platform Priorities:
Max believes that it is possible for Pennsylvania to lead the nation in development of clean energy. He will champion and facilitate the research and development of alternative energy on our University campuses and in the private sector.

Max believes that it is possible to advance the appreciation for the arts, even in economically challenging times. As a lover of the theater, music and art, he will strive to facilitate a platform for our artistic resources throughout the Commonwealth. A healthy culture takes time to celebrate the arts and its contribution to the human spirit.
Max believes that it is possible to restore William Penn’s vision, that all Pennsylvanians would treat each other with honor and respect. He will confront the cultural, ethnic, religious, gender, and sexual orientation issues that harm and divide us.
Max believes that it is possible to greatly increase our High School retention rate, and provide a world-class education for our students. He does not believe this will need to happen on the backs of our taxpayers, but by the involvement of educators, parents and community leaders.
Max believes it is possible to advance manufacturing and the extraction of our natural resources without causing undo harm to the environment. Where it is not possible, all efforts should be halted until resolutions can be found.

Senior adults comprise one of the most powerful people groups in PA, yet they are too often disregarded and disrespected. Younger, and less experienced, generations are handicapped without the wisdom and life experience Seniors represent. I will advocate for the rights of our seniors to ensure they receive the care that they need. But I also commit to empowering them to become involved in the building of our future. It has been and will continue to be exponentially more difficult without their reason and experience.
